i've lived in Columbus my entire life. what sorts of recommendations are you looking for?

if you've never had Cincinnati chili, i highly recommend trying Skyline Chili. make sure you get one of spaghetti dishes, i recommend a 5-way, but the cheese coneys are super good if you can stomach hot dogs.

for ice cream, Jeni's and Graeter's are great. Graeter's for more traditional flavors (their black raspberry choc chip is fucking amazing) and Jeni's for more "artisan" flavors.

Food

Dirty Franks - awesome hot dog place with all sorts of toppings. they even have a kimchi dog

Ray Ray's Hog Pit - best BBQ in the city

Hound Dog's - some of my favorite pizza. make sure you get smokin' joe's crust

Brassica - sort of like Mediterranean Chipotle

Melt - if you want some over-the-top but pretty tasty grilled cheese

Lola & Guiseppe's - nice little mom and pop Italian restaurant over on the east side. real tasty

Akai Hana - best sushi in town

Coco's Taqueria - my favorite mexican joint

Los Guacho's Taqueria - supposedly some of the best tacos Al Pastor in the country. they have three locations now.

Activities

16 Bit - the first "barcade" in the city. games are free to play as long as you buy drinks. there are other "barcades" around town: Old north arcade (Old North), Level 1 (Worthington)

Park of Roses - just north of Clintonville (not far from downtown), the park is free to visit and very pretty.

Dublin Irish Festival - this happens over the first weekend in August. traditional Irish dancing, food, drinks, other things.

Art Museum (free admission)
Findlay Market
Cincinnati Zoo
Spring Grove Cemetery (you will just have to trust me)
American Sign Museum
Washington Park (there is always something going on and you are in the heart of restaurants/bars)
Mainstrasse (located in Covington, KY with a lot of great bars and restaurants. Recommend if you like bourbon)
Top of Carew Tower
Tokyo Kitty (Japanese-style karaoke bar)

Places to Eat:
Eli's BBQ
Incline Public House (one of the best views of Cincinnati)
Taste of Belgium
Lalo (hidden gem for great tacos, but others will suggest Bakersfield, Mazunte or Nada)
Biagio's (my favorite Italian restaurant and it's located in the Gaslight District which is a great little eclectic area)
Nine Giant (restaurant and brewery)
Embers (fine dining, but if you want the best steak go here over any Jeff Ruby's places)
Kaze (if you are here on Sunday, happy hour is from open until close and just great Asian food)
Allyns Cafe (great Cajun)
Taglio (Detroit-style pizza)
Goodfellas (pizza and beer)
Keystone (specializes in mac n cheese and it is to die for)

Grab a Drink:
Taft's Ale House (one of the best Cincinnati breweries and great food)
Woodburn Brewery (one of the best Cincinnati breweries)
The Rook (bar with hundreds of board games)
Rosedale (awesome outdoor space and half-price happy hour until 7pm M-F)
AC Hotel at the Banks (rooftop bar right along the river)
Braxton Brewery (not the best beer, but cool spot and near a lot of great places like Hotel Covington)
