The notch basically represents a small compromise in providing a real edge to edge display at the top of the iPhone X because of the space required by cameras and other sensors. Lucky for Google, they seem to have done one better with the upcoming Pixel 3 and added a chin to the mix while also adopting the notch, just to remind you that copying Apple is important even if they completely miss the point.

I'm an Android fan and I really wanted to like the Pixel line. I've previously tried other brands like Sony and LG, but my most recent purchase was the Note 8. It was going to be the Pixel 2, but I need my headphone jack. I was going to keep and eye on the Pixel 3, but lmao fuck that. I absolutely will not buy a phone with a notch.

Damn that guy was super annoying. IMO the in screen fingerprint reader is the best solution because youre only using the motor for the selfie camera occasionally. I could only imagine the motor dying on the oppo find x and locking the phone indefinitely until its fixed.

Curse Apple for introducing this stupid notch. All the companies that keep copying it are even worse, though.

Personally, I prefer the way Samsung did it in the Galaxy S8 and beyond. The bezel is still there, but it's so small it's not a big deal.

So that you would have to buy one of their dongles to use their lightning port which gives them a royalty cut for every sucker who has to buy a lightning port connected item.

The law was passed in 2014. Apple kept fighting it every step of the way and it's gotten to a point where they can no longer ignore it, so it looks like their workaround is going to be to get rid of the port entirely and use wireless charging only.
