Current Events > Anyone able to help me out with group messages on Android (Pixel)?

So when I first got my pixel 2 I was having a weird time with the stock texting app where I wouldn't get some of my friend's texts. I decided to get messages+ since that's what a friend recommended.

It's a nice app but it does this weird fucking thing with group texts. They would come to me individually and I'd have to download each text from a person and THEN their text would pop up in the group text. This gets confusing af as they don't appear in the group text by time but rather by what order I download each text. Hell, sometimes it takes a long time for me to download a single text even if it's not long. My cousins use iPhones and one uses Android so it isn't an all iPhones vs my Android thing.

Any help or suggestions would be awesome.
