It's just a lost cause to get your hands on a phat model in general at this stage of the game.

Why not just get a PS2?

Most BC models of PS3, even if they haven't died yet, are very prone to breaking. They can be fixed, but it'll only be a few months before they break again.

The upscaling on the PS3 is kinda nice.

Use an emulator then. It's possible to do so completely legally (as long as your computer has an optical drive, but you can always grab an external one). It can upscale them even better than the PS3 can, and you don't need a top-of-the-line PC to achieve it either. If your PC has bluetooth (and if not, it's a few bucks for a USB bluetooth adapter) you can even use your PS3 or PS4 controllers, wirelessly.

My 4K TV shows a black/gray image no matter what I use, component or composite. It's annoying af

This is why Im finished with Sony. The new systems are never backwards compatible and Im good on keeping three or four systems just to play a few games.

My favorite stuff that Sony has is classic stuff from PS1/2 era that you can buy on the online shop. Even when I had a PS4, I still got more use of my vita. The PS4 has a mediocre library, that is not good enough to justify them not making the system backwards compatible with PS3.

I have a Playstation TV plugged in for my PS1/PSP games lol

But yeah, shit like that is partially what converted me to Xbox One X last year. My entire library on a single console.

If you have a PS2 then you'd probably have better luck finding a compatible TV than backwards compatible PS3

I had a launch 60 GB PS3 and the blu-ray drive died after 2 years. It's been collecting dust since.

Then these guys turn around and cry when people download their games for free. These people need to realize that we are not okay with buying the same game three times.

Some games are available for PS3, PS4, and Vita. If I purchase it online for one system, I should be able to download it to all three systems from my account without having to pay three times.

Then they conveniently make older systems inaccessible, so youre pressured into re-purchasing your entire game library multiple times. Fuck them.

On Xbox One if they make a game backwards compatible, you just pop in the disc, download the compatible game file and play away.

Meanwhile on PS4 they're trying to sell $15 PS2 ports of San Andreas

At this point I'm looking for whatever company supports my needs the best and who would've thought Microsoft would've rose to the occasion

Got a PS Triple in 2007 and it crapped out after 8 years. I was pretty bummed about losing the BC once I got a PS4.

No, most games on PS3 were just poor ports of 360 games until the late stages of the console.
