I tried to get into Warriors Orochi 3, but it got frustrating because a bunch of the levels seemed like they almost required you to be playing co-op. It would tell you to protect people on opposite sides of the map but not provide the time or means to travel back and forth. And if you failed, you didn't get to keep your XP.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the campaign was designed to be that way. It would tell you to save a certain officer but you would fail automatically because it would spur you to go back in time to find a method to help save that officer.

That's exactly right. Original missions feature the losing timeline, and you find alternative pasts to have a re-do where you can be victorious.

i'm going to go into another musou series soon after i complete the dynasty games minus the vita one (that one has insane requirements) and needs 3-4 people to complete it.

ps3 version only needs 2 copy's of the game on a few of em pretty much it.
most likely next series will be the warrior's series think there's some participating dynasty warriors characters in it.

I definitely recommend Warriors orochi and Gundam Warriors. Warriors Orochi is actually an amalgamation of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai warriors plus cameos and God's. Just a fuckton of characters to play around with which makes it amazing.

Gundam Warriors just because it's fun as fuck to play all the sexy ass Gundam from all the series
