I don't want to come off as dismissive of mental illnesses. I have severe anxiety issues and due to pharmacy error I was without medication for about week, and I had a pretty bad breakdown over it. So I get real mental craters and struggling.

But, uh, the moderator(s) that did this clearly have issues. I don't understand how you willfully ban that many people over a 90/10 split of harmless comments that mostly amount to disagreeing that this should be controversial.

Like, if they're so fragile that they feel the need to permaban people on forums for mundane things, how to they operate in daily life? How do they handle real strife? What is their level of responsibility in life to place them in a mental state where they get so angry on the internet that they feel the need to silence 100+ people who mostly said nothing wrong?

Do they not realize that every other corner of the internet looks at that and scoffs at it? Do they not realize that people watch these sorts of things and even people who are nowhere near approaching right-wing will see that and assume ResetERA is a festering pile of garbage?

I don't want to be a user there based on this. Most people likely wouldn't. When you ban a sizable number of people and instill bad will and make the entire community look like a joke, how do you expect your fledgling offshoot website to survive for any extended period of time?
