Now that's some balls to the wall pacing

3 episodes in and I feel like I've already watched a whole 26 episode series

I love how almost all the characters kick as much ass as they get theirs kicked

Dio is basically anime Liquid Snake

Or maybe Liquid Snake is video game Dio

Either way this is the first popular anime I've enjoyed in a while (compared to Attack On Titan, Sword Art, etc...)

Eh yes and no. You probabaly already knew each part has a new main jojo so I doubt you found it deeply shocking. Just dont make assumptions. I think you will still be surprised quite a bit by the show.

The dub is fantastic, just saiyan, but you can watch it either or. JoJo is fantastic, and you're in for a wild ride.

If you enjoy part 1, you will most definitely enjoy the rest of the other parts because Part 1 is easily the weakest in the series.

I'm actually doing the same. I started with Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, then went back to Part 1. I'm about halfway through that now, and really pissed at myself for not watching it in order. Either way, really enjoyed Stardust Crusaders, and am REALLY enjoying Part 1.

Also, I saw the first ep of Diamond Is Unbreakable, part 4, since the Toonami is going through the dub in order.

I dunno if I liked it. Is it as good as any of the first three parts?

While that's true, part 3's high points are fucking phenomenal. D'Arby the Gambler is possibly the most intense fight in the series, but not a single punch is thrown.

Part 4 takes a back seat in the big adventure traveling and goes for a more slice of life kind of style. It still kind of does the Part 3 "monster of the week" format, but turns every battle into an "encounters" instead. Out of all the parts, I enjoy Part 4 the best but it's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

True, I guess that's one thing the anime does right for Part 1 and 2. I wasn't a big fan of the art style for part 1 in the manga.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the first one is first. It covers Parts 1 and 2. After that, you watch Stardust Crusaders, this is the first half of Part 3. Then Stardust Crusaders Battle in Egypt, this is the second half of Part 3. Finally, Diamond is Unbreakable, this is Part 4.

Is Diamond the final dub series they've made?

I'd definitely stick with sub tbh.

Not just for the memes, but because the Japanese voice actors really are spot on. Especially Dio's. Dub VAs are good, but the JP ones are great. I've yet to hear a character in the dub that I think sounds better.

Idk dude... Seitz did good, but no Wryyy or Za warudo. He doesn't sound as smug/charismatic in English which I feel is a big essence of DIOs character.

Agreed, but it was still shorter than 3 and felt a lot shorter because the majority of episodes had something to do with the overarching plot. Whereas Part 3's monster of the week format felt a lot more like needless padding.

Yeah but the monster of the week thing was executed really well since they managed to make them all pretty unique.

Like, I wasnt crazy about Stardust Crusaders until about 7 episodes in when I realized the entire gimmick of the show is them coming up with a creative new tactic to overcome the next ridiculously overpowered enemy.

Plus it still had the whole big traveling adventure theme going for it, which was a lot of fun.

I stopped watching in the middle of part 3 cause that shit dragged the fuck on. It also wasn't anywhere near as good as part 2 either imo.

Yeah, there's a lot of unnecessary episodes in part 3. Really story wise all you need are probably 20 or so of them. Cairo is what's important. Still, each episode has a pretty memorable moment imo.

Joseph (Jojo Part 2) is by far the best Jojo. He's the type of character you just want to see on screen because he just owns any scene he's in. If you could throw him into any other anime, the anime rating would instantly shoot up by his mere presence.

Yep, though the reason for Part 3 is because Jotaro is such a boring character that he needs to be carried by the great supporting cast. Jolyene (from Part 6) is pretty much Jotaro done right, being a badass while actually having a personality with a stand power that allows for so many creativity.

Joseph is just a league on his own, he carries himself because of his charisma and antics. Too bad he gets jobbed so hard in part 3.

Jotaro is the straight man. He accentuates the comedy of everything around and about him. Never took him for being white bread, because hes just so over the top.
