that was ridiculous and could have done much much better. well, time to watch End of Evangelion.

this is what i perceive the ending to be at least:

after the 5th kid died, gendo basically got what he wants. i don't know how exactly, but he triggered the 3rd impact and killed everyone. the human instrumentality project is basically he merged all human consciousness by dissolving everyone's AT field (which is the barrier of the mind in EVA, basically container for your soul) into one, very powerful AT field made by adam/lilith, w/e

the narrator questioning the characters basically are the struggles of each person when merging to the hyperconsciousness, i dunno if exactly the merged consciousness retain individual personality, and given a personal paradise to live in, or the united minds manipulate everyone so they merged witg minimal trouble.

still have no idea what the angels are, how did they find adam, and whatever the spear of longinus is.

both rushed and ran out of money. if only they had known how much money they would have made with the series.
it's basically powerpoint slides 80% of the time, the animate scense are either reused, or sketches lmao

well, i hope EoE is more satisfying

It was a budget issue. The original version of the episodes had a lot of close up shots to waste time. Even one of the episode previews was the drawn story board images instead of it being animated.

End of Evangelion will probably confuse you more.
