A lot of us grew up with divorced parents or friends who had divorced parents and have seen what it does, so we're waiting longer for marriage(if at all).

I'll ask them how their lives turned out when I get to hell and meet some of them.

This is the fourth topic about it this week.

A bunch of idiots are going to come in and say this like "Well yeah, there's less divorces because there's less marriages." Because they don't realize it's the divorce rate that's falling. And then some other people that can't read will come in and say "Just wait until they're in their 40s, then they'll catch up." Because they lack the reading comprehension to realize the divorce rates are being compared between the same age ranges, not just total of that generation.

It happened in the other 3 topics, very embarrassing for those folks.

millennials-are-causing-the-u-s-divorce-rate-to-plummet

Wait, are they really?
As a majority?

Are more of them supposedly choosing to stay married?
Or are more of them just not getting hitched at all?
Both decrease the rate of divorces...

You could read like at least 3 paragraphs of the article homie

The marriage rate has also fallen over the last several decades. But Cohen calculates the divorce rate as a ratio of divorces to the total number of married women. So, the divorce rates decline isnt a reflection of a decline in marriages. Rather, its evidence that marriages today have a greater chance of lasting than marriages did ten years ago.

I personally think youll reach a point soon where a lot of marriages are (acknowledged or not) open relationships. At least in urban areas. Dating apps and the sheer number of possibilities lend to this.

Do you really get to complain about clickbait when you're demonstrating exactly why clickbait is so effective by not having the patience to read the meat of the content

Also does this even count as clickbait

"millennials cause US divorce rate to plummet" followed by a decently written article summarising why seems like pretty honest journalism to me

The headline is the only thing that needs to be discussed when people link articles. The rest of the content is just fluff.

well also the argument is that fewer people getting married because there are fewer people getting married stupidly, as millenials are smarter about it than previous groups, and so divorce RATES will fall as well (because a lower fraction of existing marriages are dumb ones).

Well yeah, when people get more hesitant about marriage, it's the 50% divorce side that shrinks instead of the 50% that's sure they want to be married.
