I'm not sure if this actually makes sense. Maybe it does.

If you're LGBT, that's a blank cheque for doing evil things.

The Bible says men who sleep with other men are abominations, which presumably means they're going to hell when they die. Therefore, if you're one of them, or something similar, you may as well do as many horrible things are possible before dying, because it no longer matters one way of the other. I hadn't thought of this before. Do you think this is true?

As far as I recall, the Bible never says being gay is a sin, only that gay sex is a sin. (And it's very possible to argue this doesn't extend to lesbian sex, depending how literally you take the relevant passages.) In particular, a bisexual person who only ever actually sleeps with the opposite sex has done nothing wrong. And I don't think it even mentions anything about transgenderism at all?

There's hundreds of different interpretations of what the requirements are for forgiveness and whether it's a one-time thing that covers you permanently or if you're only absolved of past sins and need to repent again for future ones.

And that's without taking into account anyone warping it to fit their own views.

Yes, if you are an unrepentant sinner, you can basically commit other sins for free.

However, it depends on the brand of Christianity. Some ascribe to ironic hells, where punishments are tied to you 'crime'. In Catholicism, some people accept Dante's interpretation of hell as having different 'circles', so you might be risking worse punishment.

I would be amazed if any Catholic believed in Dante's version of hell. I'm pretty sure it was just meant to be a work of fiction and entertainment, not a serious look at what happens to people after they die. Although, I did like how the ninth circle, i.e. the worst one, was reserved for people who betrayed kin, such as family or friends. I always did hate backstabbers.

Religion is hard to understand, I think.

Considering how influential said work of fiction is, it's not really hard to believe that it has left some impression. Not to mention the work itself may be based on some pre-existing ideas. For example;

Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy is the Trope Namer, and the most famous example. Anything you think you know about Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory was probably popularized by Dante, though very little of it is supported by Biblical canonicity. Considerable portions were also based on contemporary Church positions and local superstitions, both of which were still dominated by leftover bits of Middle-Eastern, Roman and Greek mythology at the time. There are also some Real Life people (such as Francesca da Rimini and Count Ugolino) that we only know of through Dante's work and the early commentaries explaining it. Note that many of them, especially the souls found in the Inferno, could probably have gone without being mentioned. Many among that group had wronged Dante in some way, and the general consensus among modern critics of Inferno is that Dante included them for personal reasons. There are so many of these people that some say Inferno is 40-50% political satire and requires extensive knowledge of contemporary Italian politics to understand.

You know, I think what I've said may honestly be true. Although, if I alert the LGBT community in general using the internet, the police will probably be VERY angry with me.

basically everything that people enjoy doing is a sin. if sinning prevented people from going to heaven, no one would be able to enter.

from a christian perspective, Jesus died for us so that we could all go to heaven

So...doesn't that still mean that we can do whatever horrible stuff we want, if we "all" go to Heaven?

Religion sure is confusing to understand!

different sins have different consequences during our time on earth, but they're all effectively equal before God
