Godot is going to be sooooo weak. Edgeworth is already extremely weak and he's appeared in almost every game in the series, as well as having his own spin-offs. Estelle will be extreme fodder but Godot will be extreme-er fodder.

I think a lot more people have played Trials and Tribulations than Trails in the Sky, and Godot is generally well liked, so I think that's enough for Godot to take it. He also looks kinda cool so he might also have the edge among people who don't know either of them and are voting anyway for the lulz.

I just don't think Trails in the Sky will have a high playrate at all. It's a PSP game.

Not to mention, Godot has a great design.

Trails has sold significantly more on the PC than it has on the PSP (not that GameFAQs is huge on the PC). According to SteamSpy it sold somewhere between 200k and 500k which is probably more than T&T sold, honestly.

Being a cute girl should be enough to get Estelle past Godot. Being something easily recognizable to most people should be enough to get Metal Sonic past Metal Man and Estelle.

I don't think Estelle is the type of "cute" that would benefit from that.

I think if you're counting on character design than Godot crushes Estelle on that front.

How often is the bracket favorite the weaker seed in low-tier fodder matches? I feel like Estelle would probably be favored by seeding against Godot (more B8 noms, plus main character rather than side character).

In Vyse/Laharl and Laharl/Neku, the higher seed won. I'm trying to think of other fodder/fodder round 1 matches, but those are the two that immediately come to mind.

Only question is Godot/Estelle. I think Ace Attorney is overall more well known. I'm not even sure who Godot is but he's the guy with the mask and white hair right? If so, he's pretty recognizable even among non-players like me and has a cool design, whereas Estelle I think is more unknown

Is Metal Man doing so poorly in the poll because everyone thinks he's weak even for this group or because he's up against the obvious favorite? I could see him being around the same strength as Estelle and Godot.

I'd say Metal Sonic takes this easy. In fact I think Metal Sonic can have some actual strength. Like i think he has a chance at being the 3rd ot 4th strongest Sonic character.

Godot should be able to beat Estelle at least. If Phoenix can beat Marth, then I'm sure Godot can beat someone from a series mostly exclusive to the PSP/Vita

I don't think you can really make any effective argument for Estelle here other than her intrinsic strength as a character. I cannot see match pic factor or character design ever working in Estelle's favor.

The way I see this match is as "side character from a relatively niche but well-loved series" vs. "main character from a slightly more niche but well loved series", and in matches like that I'm inclined to bet on the main character.

Except that Estelle pic is not funny. Godot is from an actually iconic series, has had way more people playing his game, and looks cool. No way he loses to her.
