Norwegian Wood is great. First Murakami I read. After Dark is good, too, for what it is.

I've read pretty much all his stuff. A lot of it is decent, and every so often they'll be something pretty good, or pretty bad. I can see why he's popular.

The wind up bird chronicle was really cool

Also if you're into music he has a good non-fiction work called absolutely on music, which is conversations between him and the conductor seiji ozawa
