I guess we were really needing a reminder that Gamefaqs likes characters more relevant in the 90s?
When Link, Cloud etc win what will it mean? Will it in any way actually imply they are the most popular in the grander sense? If you're asking why Link, Cloud, Mario, Snake, Samus, Sonic, Megaman, and Crono have byes to the sweet sixteen, it's so less proven characters here don't have to face them right away.
