If they experience a data breach or announce one in the future (pretty likely considering this policy change) you will have surrendered your rights to join a class action lawsuit by doing nothing. I honestly don't know of many viable alternatives to Discord with the similar features. Yeah from what I understand regulations in the EU in particular are really strong and pretty much render this policy change entirely useless for Discord. Good to know! Even in the US, you cannot lose your right to litigation.
