It makes you look observant and not quick to shoot your mouth off. It gives the appearance that you only speak when you collect your thoughts and have something important to say. Whether or not you live up to that is up to you.

Depends on how you carry yourself. It works if you walk with confidence but not arrogance. If you have neither, you look like an insecure pussy.

In general, it can be better to say less. I knew so many kids that were generally quiet, but once in a while they would say the funniest shit or drop the best burn on someone and everyone would laugh and still be talking about it for weeks afterward. That's way better than trying too hard like some do and getting nothing or just pity laughs/half-hearted laughs.
