When I was younger it was Halloween, now it has to be Thanksgiving, even though Halloween has more of an impact on culture.

Halloween: Pass out candy to kids.
Thanksgiving: Consume tons of food and alcohol with family.

Thanksgiving I guess...

I basically celebrate precisely two holidays at this point - Halloween and 4th of July.

I haven't celebrated Thanksgiving for like a decade now.

As I said in another thread but Halloween is pretty much dead in my area but does give an excuse to watch a few horror movies.
Myself personally I hate the Thanksgiving foods but at least I get holiday pay from my job. But I think I'm still going with Halloween because after Thanksgiving i'm in for a month + of hell.

I think Halloween is dead everywhere.

I have gotten 4 kids so far tonight (7:20 right now), and the first year I was at my house I got like 60. Next year I don't think I will even bother, a 35 year old man doesn't need to have a ton of candy sitting around in his house.

Thanksgiving because it's time off from work and a day spent with family, capped with a nice meal. I don't really do much with Halloween anymore.

Definitely Thanksgiving. I look forward to the food. A few days after my mother always makes home made noodles and uses the left over Turkey and the carcass for gravy and invites all over again for some of that. The noodles are soooooo good.

Actual day of Thanksgiving wins, but I like the whole lead up to Halloween better. The decor and also being a horror fan there is a ton of great horror films being shown and cool events going on.

I don't get a day off work for Halloween.

I get Thursday and Friday off work for Thanksgiving, so it's a four day weekend.

Thanksgiving therefore easily is my preferred holiday over Halloween.

Heck, I prefer Memorial Day and Labor Day over Halloween as well since I get those days off work.

Once you enter the real working world, the holidays you get off work are really the only ones that matter. lol
