Take out RAM sticks, clean the slots (a small paintbrush is enough), carefully clean the stick pins with a white eraser, put them back in.

The Windows Memory Diagnostic didn't detect anything bad.

Is that a good thing?

Try booting into bios, see what diagnostics you can run from ther

Try some computer duster in the vents. Could be a heating issue, could be actual failure.

Start looking at replacements in case the latter

There's not much you can do about HDD physical/sector errors. Take the drive out and put it in a USB enclosure to transfer what you can to another computer, then replace the drive and reinstall Windows. If you do reinstall there's no need to worry about the license key since that's linked to the motherboard and it will be auto-activated once connected to the Internet.

If you want to verify that the hard drive actually has physical errors you'll need to scan it with a S.M.A.R.T. testing app like Crystal Disk Info or WD Data Lifeguard (from a boot CD/USB obviously). Some BIOSes have S.M.A.R.T. tests built in and you can run them if you boot to the BIOS setup thing.

It's the ram which you can replace. Just buy new sticks

He never said anything about a page file. Page faults can happen because of physically defective memory.

However, upon searching for this exact error message, the problem seems to be most likely with the hard drive, and not the other components.

Also, I don't think the page file is stored in the CPU. I don't think CPUs have any storage ability outside of the extremely limited cache.

The page file refers to the CPU's architecture. More specifically the more complicated and annoying way it handles extended Ram and processes over what the hardware might seem capable of. The CPU has to know how to address everything properly so it has to have an on board address for it, at least from what I remember. An OS is responsible for ROM on the hard drive and they all do it differently. The RAM itself however should be directly linked to the CPU as well, so yeah maybr it could be a RAM issue.
