I might check out Muse for the hell of it, they haven't really caught my attention since maybe 2006 though.

Lil Peep - Come Over When Youre Sober, Pt. 2

really disappointing and sad, Peep's parts are fine but the musical backing isn't the right fit

It sounds mostly the same as pt1 musically though.

Plus it's a Christmas album. Working retail for years in my teens and early to mid twenties triggers Nam flashbacks every time I hear Christmas music. I loathe it.

A lot of emo bands of that era dealt with religion and spirituality without actually being Christian bands

Brand New is a notable example as well

Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers album is pretty solid so far, but I'm only a few songs in.

If anyone remembers Against Me! this is a solo project from the lead singer/guitarist/founder.

Enjoyed the peep album but it feels a little too long considering it's quite one paced. Lot of people complaining about the production but it's pretty much the same as pt1 so I'm not sure why.

Architects have a new album out today too but none of the songs that I hadn't already heard stand out to me.

Will give the Laura Jane grace album a listen but she hasn't written anything interesting in about 10 years.

Well first listen opinions- the first couple songs have a lot of energy and are decently catchy. Unfortunately that wind is lost and the rest of the album really drags out into a kind of slow angst.

Edit: It seriously feels like tracks 1-6 are their own album and 7-14 belong on some other release. I'm not sure if it was intentional- there is a song called manic depression. This album seems like one big up in the first half and a hard down for the second half.

If I'm being honest, if tracks 1-6 were put out on an EP this might have been one of my favorite releases this year, but the end of the album just ruins it for me.

I like the album after 4 tracks. My brother just texted me to say he hates it after giving it a full listen.
