Schott are good. Chevignon and North Face too.
Canada Goose aren't bad, but only useful if the winter where you live is some fucked up polar minus FIVE MILLION "Two days Before The Day After Tomorrow" kind of shit.
People wearing Canada Goose jackets in temperate areas where the worst it can get in winter is 7C are usually fashion victim bellends.
TH are nice too, provided you don't get one of their hideously coloured models.

Canada Goose is certainly trendy hypebeast stuff but I've never really understood the appeal aesthetically or pragmatically. I see a lot of people in Edinburgh wearing them (mainly chinese students) and I'm always thinking...Jesus the coldest it gets here is -5C occasionally, you don't need that thing.

Barbour though, that's something I can get behind.

Exactly. I have two myself, but rarely ever wear them, except when at the mountain during winter (when walking about, not when skiing of course lol). Winters in Paris are pretty mild. Yet I give all the nobs two weeks max to start cracking them out en masse.

I noticed uniqlo has a bunch of down stuff for cheap now.

I have a down Rainforest coat in matte forest green that is probably my favorite coat ever. Their current selection is garbage though imo.
