I knew that it has a numbing effect on the mouth. I tried one and chewed on it, yeah it numbs but not the way I thought, it feels like there are thousands of tiny tiny things massaging the inside of my mouth and tongue, kinda like you know how it feels when a leg has fallen asleep and the tingly feeling when it's waking up, like that but a good version of it. After it was over my mouth feels cool. And the flavor was kinda fun too. Gotta find some nice Chinese recipes for this.

Sichuan peppercorns are cool but a little overrated. I'm not able to taste the food as well when they are doing their numbing bs.

Man, I toasted some and ground it up. Added it to goulash and man, not only did it add awesome flavor the tingling feeling just adds much to the experience. I love this spice!
