It depends on who's doing it.

On YouTube a lot of the roleplayers you find do it force the triggers to an absolutely grating degree. They literally don't know what the fuck they're doing, it seems like. I literally saw this one dude in a doctor's exam roleplay basically go ham on sliding his hands all over a keyboard because the hypothetical patient liked it.

Like. Who in the fuck WOULD like that?

It's all just so forced. Or in some cases it's more about the person trying to be "sexy" or something, or it's literally just strange and fucked up shit.

I mostly just limit myself to educational videos about performing medical exams these days - stuff not intended to trigger ASMR but it just happens to fit in line with my triggers anyways. It's about the only way I can stand it these days.

I tried it and I dont get the appeal. I never got that relaxation feeling that you hear about. I wouldnt go so far to say I find it annoying though, just no interest.

Most asmrtists seem to think that I want to hear their nasty saliva sounds when they're talking to me and I really don't. I have one girl I listen to who doesn't do that and I really like it. She taps on books and stuff and it's great to listen to.

I stopped getting the actual feeling a while ago, never had it that much from vids just haircuts and dr appts and stuff.

It's great. Before, I would listen to podcasts to sleep, but if I was too into the subject, i'd sometimes stay up way too long.
