Yeah, I've been a fan since the beginning. I read the first few books a year ago, and loved it. My mom is a huge fan of the books, too. The show actually is an incredibly faithful adaptation.

Me and my wife just started season 3 and it's good so far. Far darker than the last two seasons, as far as I can tell, but it has been good.

Ah nice. I didn't know it was based on books. Might have to check them out.

Yeah I'm in the middle/near the end I think and it's pretty great so far. Can't wait to see how they conclude this season.

Yeah, the series is still going. I think my mom said the latest one has Uhtred at about ... 60ish. There is like 8 or 9 books now.

I also love all the historical battles/content they include. It should be expected, though, since the author (Bernard Cornwall) also wrote the Sharpe's series and a bunch of other long running historical fiction series.

Oh dang. So he gets to live pretty old! I wonder if the show would continue long enough for that. Maybe a time skip or something.

I think there is a couple time skips in the book, but it's more like "check in with Uhtred every five years" sort of thing. Technically, season 2-3 already had a timeskip of around 5 years, since he already has two children with Gisela.

He's awesome. In the books the call him Finan the Agile. Other than that, the show is pretty faithful to his character so far. The only thing I don't remember being mentioned in the books was his Christianity. Oh, and I'm pretty sure he had long hair in the books because there was a scene where him and Uhtred gave each other pagan style braids and the slavemaster on the ship was mocking them for it.

Yeah I really like that show. Haven't seen the third season yet.

I heard that George RR Martin tweeted about how great a show it was in the middle of a GoT episode last season. After saying he was too busy to watch GoT anymore. Not sure how true that all is, but that's pretty damn funny.

The first 2 seasons were great. Haven't seen the 3rd. Iseult was so insanely hot.

I have to say, third season got me so fucking mad, not because it's bad but the events that transpired. And in a way I feel that makes it great.

Im almost finished I think.

I don't know what is going on exactly, but it's safe to say that Uhtred is the butt monkey of the series. Everything bad happens to him, multiple times. It'd be sad if he wasn't so fucking badass about it.

Yeah. The constant struggle between him and Alfred is made even bigger in s3. Uhtred is such a great character tho. The whole trying to account for both his Dane and Saxon background makes for great struggles and character development.
