Probably soon rather than later. You don't want to go through a Pittsburgh winter with a bad roof. I keep seeing these commercials for Rain roof repairs in your area that might be worth seeing if they can get you an estimate. You may get lucky and it might just be a patch.

Idk the dude at work said he is dealing with 3 leaks until summer when he gets a new roof. Wasn't sure if that was common.

What pisses me off so much is I am at work and I was just nonchalantly told oh hey my son said his roof is leaking onto his carpet when he got into the car and then they went about their day without even inspecting the area.

It is BARELY sprinkling right now. How is a leak going through the roof, through the ceiling, into the carpet.

And why did t they at least put a pot down to catch it.

Oh I am hella pissed.

I just don't understand how it could possibly be leaking when it is barely raining. And I am stuck at work til 10pm so I can't do anything regarding it. Grrr.

Sometimes it takes awhile for the water to work it's way through the various layers to get to the inside, if that makes sense.

I will definitely put a metal roof on. Those are like 3-5k. But I am not gonna be fucking happy about that.

It's probably just a thing where it's cheaper to find someone to do it in the dry season than the rainy/snowy season. Like how if you need your AC fixed/replaced, it's cheaper to do it in the middle of winter. The less work these companies have, the lower their prices go because they're more desperate.

Idk if I am more mad now than I was before.

So, here is the story of events.

My girl texts me and says I just got in the car and my son told me oh by the way my ceiling is leaking. It was leaking on my shoe and the carpet.

I call her and an like wait wtf. Did you go see how bad it is and put a pot down to catch the water?

She says well no I was in the car already so I went to the store like I was about to.

I was like really??? Well get home. See how bad it is. Check all the other rooms. And put down containers before the water damage gets bad.

She calls me like 2 hours later and says. Well, I can't find any leaks. I asked him to show it to me and he said he just assumed the ceiling was leaking because there is water on his one shoe. So I tried to wipe his shoe off and it is solidified soda on the shoe and not even water.

I swear to God I don't know how I live with these people .. not sure if I am more mad that my roof would be leaking or that someone told me it was when it wasn't.
