100

Pretty pleased with that. Saw lots of entertaining works, although some were better than others. Highlights include Three Billboards, Loving Vincent, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, and Bohemian Rhapsody. I've tried out new directors, like Kurosawa (decent, but overrated) and Bergman (good, but overrated), and also tried out new stuff by at least one director I already knew, Altman (pretty good, but largely forgotten these days). Seen a nice mix of Hollywood and indie, which is important. Some of the indie stuff was fucking strange, like that Hollis Frampton film, and A Boy Who Came Home. Seen stuff across plenty of countries, like Britain, America, Japan and South Korea.

Thoughts on what I've seen?

I liked it a lot. Very interesting subject matter, and presented very well with a nice mix of funny and serious. Second half wasn't as good as the first half, though.

I've seen it, but last year. I think I saw it at the end of last year, and then early this year, I saw the other 2. Mystery solved.

And yeah, I don't always remember the names.

I'm surprised more people aren't interested in this topic. I know I'm probably the only film buff on CE, but films are still a populist form of entertainment, and some of those films well widely seen. Sorry. "Movies". I know that upsets CE.

No. He's fine, but there's a limit to how many almost identical films by him someone should watch.

- Liv Ullman as one of the leads
- Strong man who bullies and harrasses woman
- Some relatively remote location
- Horrible, depressing things happen
- Some hope at the end, but not much.

This description could be applied to many of his films. Urgh.

Because it's nothing worth congratulating over. Get a letterboxd account and put it in your sig or something, it'll help you remembering the names of stuff too.

I've watched 167 and it's way less than I planned and a lot less than most people I follow.

No, don't be so pretentious. I watched a wide variety of films. I'd link to my film diary but it has nudity on the first page.

I really doubt a guy who couldn't figure out how to charge a phone and obsesses over other posters is getting much out of the likes of Bergman tbh.

Don't be so sure. I'm a pretty depressed person, sometimes. I'm the kind of guy that Bergman probably wanted watching his stuff.

And the charger wasn't compatible with standard outlets. I wasn't being stupid. They probably just packaged the wrong version of the charged, that's all. And I'm not obsessed with certain other posters. They just say I am.

As a film lover I'm glad you've been watching movies, but 100 movies in a year isn't particularly a lot.

You'd only have to watch one movie roughly every 3 days, and could miss a day or 2 too and still be on track.

Also, you're trying to somehow separate "films" from movies in terms of quality, wtf are you even on about. Film is the medium, it has nothing to do with the quality of the product.
