Even if it hadn't relied on tricking the big bad into walking over what was more or less the barrel of a cannon like it's some cartoon from the dang 40's, there is no way whatoever that Tony, who was more directly in the blast, in inferior armor AND NOT EVEN WEARING A HELMET could have survived while big bad died. The book (by Dan Brown) is one of the stories that stuck with me more than anything, and I sincerely think the ending of that story is exactly what this world needs. It would be a perfect and fair solution to the problem described in the story. Then the movie came and they changed the ending because they thought it would be too controversial. --- The secrets of the ancient world have been unearthed.
