I think the biggest contributing factor is the fanbase though. Ive recently just played Awakening, Birthright, and Revelations (on the second to last chapter) and I had a lot more fun with the kids this time than I remember having. It adds more gameplay and gives you extra characters whose abilities and stat growth you can customize. The drawback is the fact that some of the characters are literally kids, so you have to always pair the kids with the kids and always get the same results.
