Nope. Black market guns are a fringe minority of mass shootings. 80% of mass shootings were done with legally purchased guns. Simply patching up the holes in the NICS background check system will go much further in reducing mass shootings and other gun violence than virtually all of the proposed laws by gun control groups.

What's scary is that in my state applications for semi auto rifles now have to be done by the local PD, with a mandatory 10 day wait.

The problem, is that many departments are getting ovewhelmed and can't process all of them within that waiting period. So if 10 days pass and there's no response back, the background check is considered as passed, regardless of what the results actually return as.
