Is it typical to get out early if you finish early?

It really depended on the lab. I had a zoology class where we could basically leave whenever we wanted because the lab was just looking at and taking notes on specimens. I would usually take pictures of everything.

My microbiology lab, however, pretty much always lasted the entire time. You were also expected to come back on your own time to check on the progress of some of the experiments.

On actual lab days yes. Dont expect to be let out early everyday. The ones I took sometimes just had hands on labs all day and if you finished early it was an early out, but usually half the class was lesson and instruction followed by lab, or the entire class was instruction which meant you were staying for the entire thing.

I know it depends, but there are cases in which they let out rather early, right?

I'm asking b/c I'm teaching a lab class next semester, never done so. It's slated for 2 hr and 40 min and looking at some of the material, hard to imagine how we will go that long.

Eh. I'd say we got out early 1/3 of the time. It wasn't common but happened often enough.

It's a psychology lab so the experiments/labs just involve doing a task on the computer, and the average run time for most of these is between 10-30 min.

Fuck lab classes. Why spend extra time in class? I took meteorology instead. Took it online while playing video games
