Surely they aren't being hypocrites and surely their real issue isn't minorities or things that make them feel icky being visible. Why do all these straight people need to make their relationships visible in public? No one needs to know you have a significant other. They don't need to see you out on a date. Co-workers don't need to hear about what they did with their spouse last weekend. Why do straight characters need to have implied romantic feelings for others? Sexuality is personal.
