19 year OLD, Audrey Lorber from New York was released from a Russian Jail after she had 19 grams of prescribed medicinal weed on her..and she's been held for 2 MONTHS but CANNOT leave russia for 10 more days!!

The Staten Island Film Maker was arrested in July in St. Petersburg after cops found the drugs in her checkin bag and was found guilty of "attempting to import" it into Russia and was fined 15000 rubles or $233 in US dollars

The document said "Given the length of the detention, she was released from serving her sentence as well as from custody"

She is required to wait over a week before she leaves the country for any potential appeal of her sentence before she is able to return to America

She had pictures of her and her mother, Rochelle, a retired teacher, having the time of their lives in the dictator run Russia before all hell broke loose when she was arrested.

She produced a document of her prescription for it but Russian court said her prescription does not apply to Russian law as Democrat Congressman, Max Rose who represents Staten Island called for her release

Drug sentences could have served up to 3 years

At the time, Joey Guli,a former colleague of rochelle said they were hysterical and she's moved out there and got an apartment just to try to get audrey on house arrest but they didn't give it to her and found it disgusting what they did to try to throw the book at her.

Audrey has been a stellar employee at the Waterside restaurant she's worked at and said she's never came to work high and whose dream was to work in Hollywood and be in the movie industry

Russia imprisons more people per capita for drug crimes than any other nation in Europe with 1/4 of prisoners being drug related offenses

was gonna say this last time... could be wrong, but I 'm pretty sure she's not 19. she did some kind of photo shoot thing when she was 19, so there are profiles of her saying her age is 19, and all the stupid articles pulled that as her age. but she's obviously ~10 or so years older than that now.

She's lucky that she was only vacationing in Russia, since some other nations would be a lot harsher towards somebody with drugs in their luggage. And, like I said in the other topic, all of this probably would have been avoided had she declared them instead of having the inspectors find them.

Otherwise a lot of the details of the case were confusing, like I think one or two articles mentioned she'd been in the country for a while before this happened or something like that.

I think even the non-tabloids were listing her age as 19, but I suppose that's not much of an indication any more these days since fact-checking hasn't been a thing for decades.

I am honestly surprised Russia would not have pursued it harder. It is one of the political wars they are fighting with the US right now after all.
