in low-end science fiction, it always portrayed like conventional war with shinier toys like spaceships, laser, robot, mechs, etc they even have human troops fighting. while stuff like clones and droids fighting are used in star wars but in the end, everything is done like our old wars.

with that technology, one or 2 superweapons would do the job. even ignoring shit like the last jedi teleportation kamikaze (then why dont they just send unmanned ship to kamikaze the destroyers or even planets in FTL? )

it's will be a race who posses the fastest, destructive superweapon. not death star kind of shit. they can literally warp anti-matter bombs into a planet's core or surface that will kill every life on the planet. the scale of destruction will be incomprehensible. imagine hoardes of nanomachines that replicate itself while building death machines and it's literally unstoppable unless you vaporize an entire solar system.

alot of scifi have their own superweapons, but they still portray civilization warring with conventional means and still use the superweapons as a plot device / last resort, while in reality with such technology you just pull the trigger of your interplanetary superweapon faster than the other guy,

I assume mutual assured destruction exists in science fiction as well.

Star Wars is supposed to have planetary shields to fuck with that kind of shit, but Disney shot down the eu.

In general just read better sci-fi where any kind of large scale conflict leaves burned out worlds or systems turned into dust and radiation clouds.

Depends on if they develop FTL comms. If not, there's no way to know when, or from where, something was sent to nuke your whole world until it's too late.

An interplanetary treaty, where they would nuke anyone who first sends out a nuke, would be a more functional alternative in that case.

what teleportation?

light-speed travel with a hyperdrive is not teleportation

they can literally warp anti-matter bombs into a planet's core or surface that will kill every life on the planet.

that... is not how the hyperdrive works
