He mostly just moped around, was overly emotional, and had extended periods where he was so depressed that he produced little or nothing or value. I'm not even convinced his philosophical ideas, for which he is most famous, have much value. He even said himself, of one of his works, that he needed to be there with the reader to explain the book (which a good book itself should do).

Would you tend to agree or disagree with this? Thoughts? Was his philosophy any good?
