Beating women and children, raping women, abusing dogs, breaking other laws doesn't make you permanently damaged goods in football or other major sports.

But kneel to the anthem and say some political stuff and you're fucking poison.

Kaepernick wasn't the best but he could easily be in the league in some capacity. Our priorities and our morals are so fucking out of whack.

3 years ago I would agree, he should of at least been a garb backup.

Now though, no. Sick of hearing about him football wise. If you want to talk about his charity and activism work, go nuts, but three years out the dude is not NFL caliber anymore.

The backlash from fans just isn't worth the trouble. Plain and simple.

Say half support his choice and the other half wants to boycott the team now. Why bother fucking with half yourf an base for no reason? It's unfortunate, but he made the all in call and this is the hand he was dealt for it. Not sure why he didn't go the CFL route tbh.

He's done and I'm not even sure if any players kneel anymore because of him. If they do they probably aren't the face of the team and nobody really cares then..

So we cant talk that the reason his career is done was because he was blacklisted?

No. Roll that bullshit back. If he wants to protest it's his constitutionally god given right and punishing him for it should be illegal.

I do support his right to protest. I also know that there are consequences and repercussions to protesting. One of them is losing your job when you protest at work. You do know that the govt isn't preventing him from kneeling right? That would be unconstitutional. If your boss says in a company memo that kneeling is a fireable offense tho.....
If I ever ran for office I'd make firing someone for practicing their constitutional rights illegal. And my Republican opponent, being the constitution hating ruffians most are, would try to slander me by calling me "anti employer" when I'm trying to give workers more rights.

But it's also unconstitutional to force me to stand and listen to the national anthem before every single one of my shift, this isn't N. Korea, especially if I have a job that has nothing to go with the government.

NFL way ahead of you. No player is forced to be on the field for the anthem.

So is it really protesting if you're not standing during a song when your employer already said it matter so little that you really don't have to be there, and therefore not in any way part of the job you were hired to do, throw a ball and play a game.

Wearing socks with cops as pigs probably didnt help him. Supporting Castro probably didnt help him. Sitting on the bench during the anthem because he wasnt the starter anymore didnt help him. Being an awful Qb didnt help him.

Lets see, anything else....oh he had a $100 million dollar contract that he shit himself out of. He wanted starting Qb money after this junk started. Oh his girlfriend or something called the Ravens owner (I think) a slave owner or some shit like that.

Kaepernick lovers have huge huge huge blinder glasses on.

Oh and the main main thing is that he was just absolute garbage the last time he played so all those headaches arent worth it at all for some old garbage qb that hasnt played in years.

If a job wasn't also firing people for beating women, then I'd still be annoyed. I don't care if they are beating women off the clock. It's still worse and anyone who ignores it is an amoral piece of shit.

Honestly, I wouldn't even mind Kaepernick being out of the league the way he is if more people were blacklisted for doing worse. Because what I'm seeing is that the flag is more important than human lives and even the basest of morals.

Either Kaepernick is tolerable or a lot more athletes aren't. Just want some consistency and human decency.

The ones complaining about Kap only read sites like BuzzFeed who don't even explain the story and aren't NFL fans and don't follow what actually happened.

Kap had a contract with the 49ers as a backup QB. He walked away from it because he wanted to be starter, but his play was awful his last 2 seasons, hence, why he was benched. He had one game where he threw for -4 yards.

Then he left the 49ers and got offers from the Ravens, and other teams expressed interest. He turned them down.

Bottom line: He's a QB who regressed significantly, walked away, turned down solid offers, and now is making a fuss for teams not being interested in him.

Not to mention, before he started kneeling, Kap was known to be one of the most selfish, showboating players off the field. He only started doing activism when he got benched.

I'm all for activism against police brutality and all that, but Kap really screwed himself over.

https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/colin-kaepernick-49ers-start-chip-kelly-nfl-buffalo-stats-career-highlights-fantasy-101116

You probably forgot how bad Colin Kaepernick was last year

Kaepernick was replaced by Gabbert last year for a reason he turned in one of the worst quarterbacking seasons in recent NFL history. The Browns wouldnt have started him.

Lets refresh the memory:

Last season, Kaepernick had a defense-adjusted yards above replacement Football Outsiders ultimate value quotient of minus-182, 35th in the NFL. By all metrics, he was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league.

These numbers look even worse when you consider that the 49ers went to a single-read offense for Kaepernick after his terrible four-interception performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.
...
Kaepernick was air-mailing throws all over the field, and when he wasnt doing that, he was skipping easy ones like this.

The 49ers went to a read-option offense for the next two games, and Kaepernick and the Niners didnt look half bad. They werent a good team, but they werent being embarrassed.

But then defenses figured it out. The unraveling became a meltdown.

Kaepernicks performance in the 49ers Week 7 Thursday Night Football game last year was among the worst quarterback performances in recent NFL history. As I wrote at the time "his mechanics had become so disorganized that even the easiest toss became an adventure in forward passing."

Were talking about 10-yard outs being thrown 15 feet over receivers heads. Eventually, the 49ers stopped throwing the ball on third-and-long, such was the struggle.

It kept getting worse and worse. You honestly couldnt tell if Kaepernick was throwing the ball away or aiming for intended receivers by the end of the contest.

There were basic mental lapses, too on a third down in the second quarter, he broke the huddle with 17 seconds remaining on the play clock, only to try to change the play with three seconds remaining. The Niners were hit with a delay-of-game flag.

Kaepernick simply wasnt allowed to throw beyond the first-down sticks in that game. The 49ers had a one-read system in place, and that read never went past the first-down marker, regardless of scenario.

Kaepernicks lack of awareness finally forced the 49ers hand they had to go to Gabbert after the Rams decided to stop covering wide receivers at the line of scrimmage and Kaepernick didnt recognize it.

Kaepernick was, hands down, the worst quarterback in the NFL last season. He played so poorly that he made Gabbert look competent by comparison. He made mistakes that would get a high-school quarterback benched.

Kaepernick sucked, plain and simple. At this point he's not even good enough to be QB on a top college team.

His most recent game performance certainly helped make the blackball work.

If Patrick Mahomes took a knee during the anthem there might be some complaints but I guarantee he would still be starting every game. Same with Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Willson, ect. They have the talent to make it worth weathering the (stupid) backlash that kneeling brought.

For better or worse, Kaep's juice just wasn't worth the squeeze.

That said, I still think it is a little crazy that he has got no chances since then. I mean he was almost certainly a better starting choice than Nathan Peterman last year. Probably also better than whatever the fuck Joe Flacco had become for the Broncos.

He sucked for half of 2015 under a new coach that wound up fired. Then he got hurt.

He started 11 games to finish off 2016 and he threw 16 TDs to 4 interceptions. He was far from irredeemable garbage and could have easily started on a number of teams or at least been a threat for the job.

People exercise player options all the time, so I don't think you can really say he fucked himself for wanting to see what else was out there. The only offers we know of were two teams that absolutely had no interests in starters at the time. The Seahawks have a future HOFer in Russell Wilson and the Ravens were fresh off giving Flacco his stupidly big deal that they eventually gave up on.

This all comes back to his antics, none of which were illegal or hurting anyone. So it sounds like he was blackballed because he upset some fans, owners, and troops that have bizarre values.

People love to talk about how bad he played but ignore that the entire team collapsed around hi km and they lost their coach and many key players as well. He wasnt the only reason for the poor play. I agree it hurt his case and if he played like Rogers he would be signed in a second. We will find out Saturday after the workouts. Most insiders think he is going to be signed.

Kaep wanted starting qb money to be a questionable backup qb who brought a media circus.

The middle section is the most important reason why he wasnt signed. If he wasnt a bad enough qb to be benched for Blaine gabbert he'd still be in the league like other players that kneeled and kept playing

Again, he was a starter in 2016. He got benched under Tomsula, who was fired after one season, in 2015 for Gabbert. Then, he got unbenched and replaced Gabbert under Kelly early in 2016 and played fine. Chip Kelly was gone at the end of the season and Kaepernick opted out of his deal for 2017.

16 TDs and 4 INTs is not "questionable backup". Have you seen some of the QBs in the NFL?

So his final 2 seasons in San Francisco were in tumultuous times for the team where they had 4 coaches in 4 seasons. So he had one bad half season under a short-lived coach and then bounced back in 2016.
