Ryzen 3700x but i dont want to overclock yet so stock cooler for now

16 GB RAM

Gtx 1080

512 gb ssd

The windows loading time blew my mind. My old one was upgraded from windows 7 and i never really cleaned it up, so there were tons of incompatible software that just bloat the services. I could turn it on, brew coffee, pee and its still loading by the time i come back.

Now i can just turn it on, close thecm door, open again and tada! Windows is already operable even with all my firefox tabs opened

You would probably gain more performance from improving your RAM than overclocking.

yeah, i dont have too fancy ram with overly high clock speed, but i think 16 GB is enough for now

Yeah, i am pretty satisfied with it except the stock fan is loud af.

Temps is ok. 75 on average pretty heavy load on the CPU.

82 on the GPU.

Except monster hunter world. I guess this game really is just super badly optimized

SSDs are the best thing to happen to computers in a while.

NVMe drives are noticibly faster than SSDs as well if you can afford one. I could never go back to a standard SSD. My pc and laptop cold boot to a usable state in 10 seconds. That includes unlocking the pc and getting to the desktop

i saw some comparison, the jump isn't as big as from HDD to SSD, so i am satisfied with SSD so far.

I still use a mix of SATA and NVMe drives. Honestly the difference in speed (especially if is just for games and normal use rather than say video editing) is negligible but if you were going to go NVMe then it makes a great boot drive

When I moved from the Samsung 850 Evo to the ADATA S11 Pro, I felt like I had gone from hard drive to SSD all over again and it was fantastic. Having spent something like $30 less for double the storage was just icing.

M.2, I assume?

I'm personally looking into SSD caching with a spare SATA SSD I have. My main drive is an M.2 Samsung 970 Pro but I still load lots of data off of large HDDs and I wouldn't mind buffering that a little.

Do you tend to load the same data repeatedly? I did look into this but gave up due to the various risks involved depending on the solution used eg risk of data loss in some hybrid scenarios, requirements to disable encryption, etc.

true, but I still keep my movies/music on a hard drive. I'm not that flush with cash that I can replace it all with SSD!

SSDs are still great dont get me wrong. but nvme drives are like 6 times as fast as an ssd and it is definitely noticeable. my computer is as responsive as a flagship smartphone

sure i will try it if this one is all used. but from what i read, for gaming, it won't make much difference. more like if you work in editing/video stuff you can move huge files very quick, et cetera.
