no matter what i do, i can't sleep until it's very late like 3 AM or more. i usually sleep at 12 - 1 am, but the past week it's been horrible.

i am still not cured, slept around 3.30 last night, but it seems i am used to the 4 hour sleep. don't wake up tired anymore and i don't bother trying to sleep until it's 2 so i have more time playing videogames at night.

weird

so do i get this superpower or what? staying up to 2 AM playing games and wake up not tired is kind of neat superpower

MY THEORY is that it's survival instinct/sheer adrenaline vs. longing for comfort/avoidance, short sleepers vs. long sleepers.

My example is that when I wake up I have so much to look forward to. Gym at 4, run at 5, make a nice breakfast, get some reading done, go to school, go to work. These are all things I enjoy, oftentimes when I'm laying in bed I look at my running shoes sitting on the floor and I smile.

Whereas the average person (who sleeps 8 hours a day), they don't like going to work, going to school, dealing with people and problems they have every day. It's why a depressed person wants to stay in bed all day, because there is nothing to look forward to.

Sure sleep is about recovery, but I think we overestimate how much sleep we may really need for biological stability. The latter 2 or 3 hours of it is just something we pin on to keep us occupied and prolong the real beginning of the day.

Again this is just my theory. I fucking HATE sleeping, what a waste of time. Sometimes I wake up and think "FUCK, I just fell for that sleeping meme AGAIN."

the thing is i've been sleeping normal for most of my life and my insomnia last 2-3 nights at most, never this long.
