When do you start paying back? How tough are the payments? What happens if you miss multiple payments?

1- usually after a grace period of a few months, or even during school. It depends on the loan.

2- depends on the school. Lots of schools jack up the price. Community colleges are more fair. Big name universities can be ok. Private tech schools are almost always scams.

3- They wreck your credit, take money from your paycheck, etc. there are ways to avoid this, but you really need to be informed.
