It was good but kinda dumb at the same time imo. Of course it's all a part of Dr. Manhattan's plan but his plan seems rather fucking dumb at this point.

At least they explained the whole Veidt thing and squidfall.

I expect a LOT of remaining questions to be answered next episode, like where the fuck the Veidt thing is going and if he ever leaves Europa otherwise it was a waste of the few minutes every episode he takes up

I'm guessing Dr. Manhattan put Veidt on Europa knowing he would "go mad" living in a paradise in which he himself is not free, have him find his way back to earth in order to claim his recognition and assist in taking down the 7th Kavalry.

Yeah I dunno. I really don't think Doc is a master planner or anything. I feel like his superego is basically along for the ride on his "living everything at once" train, and a lot of his actual actions are emotion-based, which seems odd to say given he's living all his moments at once, therefore he's experiencing every emotion at once. Still, his emotions seem to hit harder at the moment he actually feels them, which comes as a surprise to even him (when he yells at the reporters in the interview, when he learns Dan and Laurie are sleeping together).

I feel like Doc's responding the best way his detached god-self can given his lack of understanding of moments as they come. Which is to say he sent Adrian to Europa because he assumed it would make him happy and keep him from killing anyone else.

you'd think Doc could have easily taken down the 7th Kavalry before they even built that superweapon

he definitely just seems to be down for the ride/experience, his time dilation thing might as well not even be a power of his if he's not going to change anything.

It's undeniably his greatest weakness and what detaches him from humanity the most.

Regardless, there's a pretty decent chance he's dying the next episode. Just remains to be seen whether we'll have a bunch of Manhattans running around or not.

i don't think they'll kill him. The director/producer whatever already said Watchmen wasn't his story to tell, and having Dr Manhattan being dead would kind of ruin it for the next guy. Besides if Manhattan dies then the whole thing was kind of pointless

Yeah, let me rephrase that. If they kill him, they'll have to have a bunch of others get his powers, because one of the whole points of Watchmen is "What if superheroes", and removing the actual superman from the equation is just petering fallout afterwards. Might be interesting to see multiple Manhattans and see how they interact and conflict.

I don't think that would happen either, same person also said that this season is a complete package, ending on a cliffhanger like that would be horrible. Although iirc he also said there would be no cliffhanger ending
