But then you also get people like OP who complain even when someone like me is going out of their way to try to minimize the smoke exposure to non-smokers in the area.

The fucking worst is working drive-thru at work when a smoker pulls up. This is a smoke-free workplace and now I'm going to smell like I lit one up for 20 minutes.

Smoking isn't illegal and smokers have rights to partake in tobacco. Even more so in places where it's taxed heavily.

Try living in China where people smoke in shopping malls, restaurants (while you're clearly still eating), offices, etc. My boss is a chain smoker, if you spend 5 minutes in his office you smell like you just smoked a pack of cigarettes. They smoke right in front of the entrances to school and still smoke (it seems like damn near every man in China smokes, much rarer to see women smoke).

I used to work in fast food and we had a designated smoking area out back behind the dumpster.

One day someone was making an order and started gagging and coughing because she smelled cigarette smoke. They were really fucking dramatic about it too. They threatened to call the owners and this and that because it could damage her lungs. She wanted free food and a gift card too for the trauma it caused.

I just told her about it being a designated area over 40 feet from the speaker. Of course she wasnt having it and started fake coughing again like she got gassed or something. I just told her to leave and never come back.
