They didn't anticipate it would become a "meme" or sorts and cause such a stir. they weren't prepared for that. I'm sure it was just a mixture of that and working with their suppliers to ensure that they had enough product to prevent shortages again. if they brought it back quick and there were reports of shortages again it would have been terrible PR...they took their time and did the re-roll out right to prevent that.
