You can take some supplies there, built a small house, and just disappear there. Badass. Plus, the amazing scenery, with the pretty mountains, the rivers, and the forrests.

Come to think of it, why don't more people live there? There's barely anyone there.

Permafrost my dude.
Impossible to grow food.
You'd be reliant on airdropped/driven in supplies (huge cost) or have a diet of entirely meat.

most of canadas north is uninhabited for the reasons people have listed
its very hard to live up there. like only 15% of the population lives up there the rest of us live closer to the border where winter isnt as harsh

also im pretty sure its only far north where you find the canadian accent as ive never heard it anywhere but on tv

I live in the Northwest Territories. Life in northern Canada can certainly be different than the south. It's more expensive but there are lots of jobs since most people don't want to live here. Also, we just finished a two week long cold snap where the temperature fell to at least -50, so that was fun.
