The rog 2. 12gb ram, 120hz refresh rate, 2.9ghz clock speed, snapdragon 855, etc..

It's arguably the best phone on the market, specs wise, and $400 cheaper than the latest Samsung and Apple phones, but it just seemed... Odd to make a gaming phone with these kind of specs. There isn't a single game on the Google play store that comes even remotely close to needing those kinds of specs, not even emulated games would need that much.

It just kind of seems like flexing, there's no real reason to have a gaming focused phone.

I've been looking at all the accessories and shit for it, some of them look amazing. It even comes with an attachable cooling fan, and the phone itself has a vent on the back.

It looks amazing for only being $600, I just don't see the purpose for it in terms of gaming. Now, in terms of doing some intensive video editing and shit I can see the value in it.

They make two versions too, one with their own version of Android on it, and one with stock Android like the pixel phones.

Exactly, there isn't a single game that would even benefit from those kinds of specs. The current top end Samsung and apples phones can max out any game on the mobile platform, including emulated games.

To play the most ambitious RPG project of 2019, Raid: Shadow Legends in 4K 120fps. Just think of the already incredibly detailed graphics and amazing storyline when you're playing in 4K.

Yeah, it is just flexing. Frankly, if they didnt pull a stunt like this, the fact that they released a phone wouldnt even be on anyones radar. Its unnecessary, but it also throws mud on the face of the competition. Really highlights how much they overprice.

Probably. Trying to enter the mobile market I guess?

Same reason Bugatti makes the fastest car ever so you can still drive it at 100km/h on the highway.

Also it's disappointing that they chose to go with the 6 year old boy Alienware design aesthetic, but not altogether surprising
