Some of us poor saps have no control over our schedule. Literally no time today for me to exercise my constitutional right.

this is by design. Voting can't be on a weekend or else more urban or minority people can vote.

People can't take a turn off their fast food or retail job to go vote. And if they can, they will find the booths on certain (majority-minority) districts have hours-long lines, the machines are "broken", etc, so they will have no option but to go back to work without voting.

Someone proposed voting on weekends and mitch mcturtle raged and said it was a power grab

Should have gotten an absentee ballot. Even better to get permanent absentee status. Your shit comes a month or so in advance and it's postpaid.

I know its a state thing, but I think early voting is pretty common. I guess though in primaries that isn't always super great because people drop out at the last minute or whatever, but still.

I assume you can just vote absentee in any state, though?

People in those jobs are less likely to have a weekend day off. Saturday and Sunday are the busy days in service industry jobs.

In fact, Tuesday is typically the least busy day at those jobs.
