I recently set up Google Pay after having used physical credit cards for the longest time, the ones that aren't contactless because US banks/cc companies are always behind the curve on that one. Overall the process is so much faster and nicer. I wish I'd have converted earlier. The only drawback is some of these merchants that disable it and push their own payment platforms and the app isn't always accurate in who will take it. With the recent pandemic having the ability to do a quick contactless payment is also nice. I have one contactless card on the way so I might just move back to the cards.

I use cards primarily. I use a check for Walmart, government services, car maintenance and a few other things. Cash at the bar so I don't go over my limit. Some of my bills are taken out straight from my account and psn either gets gift cards or pre paid cards because fuck dealing with their numerous hacks.

Yeah I highly prefer being paid to spend my money when possible. Mobile payments luckily retain this. I just wish some of my current CCs would upgrade to contactless, kind of annoying not having it in 2020 but mobile payments fills that gap but not without some caveats like coverage gaps.
