Oh ok. Personally if I wanted to kill time during this period I'd go for the easily available (and hopefully cheaper) console on its last legs with games I hopefully like.

My friend has been begging me to let him borrow my Switch. I told him he could pick it up on Sunday and he was like "How about tomorrow? Thanks bud!". I just ignored his text. You can let me do you a favor on my schedule, not yours. So ****ing ungrateful.

i might buy a backup ps4 because of my disc drive but it won't be till the end of the year i'm not in a hurry for another system because of my ps4 disc drive acting up (it spits out the discs) if i attempt to open it there's a high chance of fucking it up on my end (i play most of my games on digital). some cant be digital ><.

I tried to get one after my tax returns a couple weeks ago thinking I could get one before the stimulus checks hit but the shelves were cleared even then. Not paying $500-600 for one so I'm just researching stuff for a pc to maybe get parts in for that.

you should still be careful.

I had a PS4 that was acting up, and it damaged my discs.

you couldn't see any damage on them, but they no longer worked, regardless of what PS4 I might put them in.

This happens with just about every Nintendo console. For some reason Nintendo consoles (and amiibos and various other nintendo merch) are prime targets for scalpers more than Sony or Microsoft.

Maybe it's a supply issue I've heard but when you have people buying a bunch of consoles with the sole intent of flipping them then that kind of contributes to the supply issue. This is also why games are still in stock because scalpers don't hoard games, they hoard the consoles

not even a full week before this all started I sold my launch switch for the animal crossing one. I waited two full days from low balls until a guy offered me 200 and I just took it. Smh

you should still be careful.

there was one possible fix i tried. supposedly there's an issue with the rubber foot on the bottom of the ps4 that can sometimes cause it to act up. removing that strip will stop the disc ejecting (seems that button is sensitive as hell).

i'll have to test it later. if i doesn't work it didn't harm the machine but still plan to get another system towards the end of the year (when they have deals).

switch appeals more to the average millennial non-gamer or casual gamer imo. a bunch of ppl i know who would fall into the "not really into video games but open to playing them" category went out and bought Switches when the COVID-19 thing first started

This but also with everyone at home I imagine its a lot easier to get time to play a handheld like a switch than a console dedicated to one TV
