I dont get it. I can play Borderlands 2 essentially forever but me and a friend (who is a bigger fan of the series than me) are playing through 3 right now and its just.....eh

It feels like it was made by the B team at Gearbox, even though it it was not

The gunfights are way too chaotic and for some reason they feel obligated to throw important story dialogue in the middle of most of them

They give you a bunch of new worlds to explore but most of them are kinda abbreviated, like Pandora in this game

The performance mode is choppy as fuck on the One X and I know its not the console because its also like this on PS4 Pro, plus BL3 isnt exactly a graphically demanding game in the first place.

And the menus are just a fucking mess. The skill trees have no rhyme to reason to their placements, Im completing challenges but they dont tell me where to claim the rewards even when I press the select button when prompted, and if you remap any of the buttons (in my case changing Mozes eject button from B to RS) it actually doesnt reflect that change in the HUD, which is a glitch that still hasnt been fixed since launch.

Im guessing Randy threw some shenanigans last minute that hindered development. Im just glad BL2 got one last round of DLC+ 4K patch, maybe Ill go back to that for now

I believe performance is just uncapped, but it's highly variable. On One X I think resolution hits 30 fps consistently, but it doesn't on Pro last time I played. Unless you're playing split screen, which is supposed to have a lot of issues.

I personally thought BL3 was pretty good. The overarching story was bad, I'll admit, but the sub stories in each planet was pretty good imo. And the general gunplay is improved imo, and I've seen plenty of capacity for unique and fun builds/setups in late game. I also like the way they did TVHM, although I am not a fan of Mayhem mode. Imo they absolutely need to add a UVHM/Mayhem mode without random modifiers (idk if they've done this already since I haven't checked in a while, though).

For me, the confusing thing about BL3 is that the guns feel a lot more "samey" to me than BL2, although I know that by objective measurements BL3 probably has more gun variety. But idk, every Jakobs pistol feels the same, every Torgue shotgun feels the same, etc. when in BL2 you could get great or shitty versions of most weapon types.

I played it closer to launch, but I'm putting it down until at least the first season pass is done and the devs catch up to the bugs and iron out their desired balance changes.

I thought a lot of Borderlands 2 sucked, so hearing tons of even worse stuff about B3 made me hold off.

They really shafted the returning Vault Hunters huh? Some like Zero and Mordecai/Brick were basically cameos smh

I heard Gaige gets it rough in the new DLC too, smh

The gunplay is definitely my favorite part about the game, but yeah, most of the guns feel like direct upgrades with no real variables between them. ATLAS guns are so fun to use though

And the Performance setting is so weird. Itll hit 60 no problem in some open areas but other open areas and even Sanctuary causes it to chug. Hopefully they improve on it through future updates but Im not holding my breath sadly.

I know Resolution setting is fine but once you play Borderlands in 60 FPS it feels so off to go back to 30 FPS, especially when the graphics barely changed lol

Borderlands 2 is on a whole different level from this game and I actually went back to play it after the new DLC came out in it, and it was as still as great as I remember it, so I know my current gripes with BL3 have nothing to do with fatigue

You're weird. I'm still playing 2 on PS4 long after BL3 came out.

I thought Borderlands 2's humor was 90% suckitude, and Jack calling you every ten seconds for "witty" banter got old quickly. The gameplay itself was fine, though...although enemies respawned way too quickly for my liking. I think they spawned a bit slower in B1, so that was more suitable for solo exploration. B2 nailed the DLC angle, though.

If you think Jack is bad, imagine multiple Jacks in BL3 but none of them are nearly as interesting but they call you twice as much, and thats the villains list, ugh

I find it odd how annoying/cringy/lame Jack can be in these games, but he was completely awesome in Tales from the Borderlands. In fact, most of the TftB cast was great -- hopefully they recycled those dudes into B3 to give it some pep.

Eh

You know somethings wrong with the game when the TFTB characters are kinda just there in BL3, cause thats what happens to them, even though theyre somewhat involved in the main story
