A response I got today for telling a woman at the pharmacy drive-thru that we were resolving a problem with the insurance on her daughter's birth control and that she should come back in 15 minutes.

She also asked me to give her the prescription for free on good faith. When it was all resolved and time to pick up, she came inside and yelled at me for not bringing it out to her car.

Kobe > LeBron. It's only internet stat nerds who think Lebron is better. Watch the games and stop calculating Lebron's PER with your wristwatch calculator.

Because it has to be rung up at the register, and is definitely a HIPAA violation

It's like when someone needs their ADD medication in 5 minutes because they're already late for their flight at the airport that is at least 30 minutes away.

Birth control isn't free where you are?

The UK (where I am) has prescription charges unless you're receiving welfare but birth control pills and devices are free for everyone.

It wound up being free once we got her correct info from the insurance provider. But some employers in America provide insurance that apparently charges for birth control if they don't believe in contraception, or force you to pay for a specific contraceptive plan.

Some birth control is pretty cheap though. I think I've seen $9 without insurance for a month supply.

I mean, technically.you could've rang up the free script and verified her identity at the car before handing it to her and there'd be no harm, no foul.

Not that I would've either.

I've moved to a hospital and I'm so glad we don't have a drive through anymore. Two lanes are even worse because there's another tech next to you talking loud as shit to deaf person number one who doesn't understand they can't just sit there and wait.

Oh the memories

That's against policy. How can you ring someone up when you don't know what their insurance copay is? And also, it's a HIPAA violation to take that outside yourself.

The first drive through pharmacy was a Walgreens. They bought a building that was previously a Burger King IIRC. It's rarer to have one that doesn't have a drive through nowadays to be honest, unless you're going to visit the old mom and pop.

Well generally you walk in, ask them to prepare the prescription and then come back in 15-30 minutes when they have it ready for you. Do your shopping or something

A drive thru where each car holds up the queue for 30 minutes sounds dumb. If youre going to park after going through the drive thru you may as well just walk in

you know you can have prescriptions prepared over the phone or faxed over right? Thats where the drive thru is convenient.

what? i just go in, tell/show them what i need, and get that within a stew minutes at most. (or they tell me they don't have it and i come back the next day or the one astter that)

there still manage to be like 10 old people at the same time sometimes. though maybe that's because germany is 90% old ppl

No car holds up the queue for 30 minutes. That would be like letting someone stand at the counter for 30 minutes. That's exactly why I told the bitch to move.
