Hey, Im not saying Dean is a bad character. In fact, I like him. But when youre competing with such a high-tier cast, it just it what it is.

There is no way this many people like Shirley. There is a stuffer and they are trying to upset me. It is always about me.

This is what you all get for neglecting the top characters.

I can understand people not voting for some of these characters because they have negative qualities. Like Jeff is often a dick, Abed is often annoying, Britta is often dumb, etc. But they also all have positive qualities that should garner them votes.

But Shirley has literally zero redeemable qualities. There is no reason for anyone to ever vote for her. She has nothing but negative qualities, from the terrible way she pronounces words to her fanatically religious Im better than you demeanor. She needs to go.

Shirley is hilarious. Not my favorite, but she's my number four among the Greendale seven.

Abed is often be perceived as annoying, that is a fact and part of his character.

Well, with Shirley, the thing that amuses me is her bipolar personality. She's so sweet and nice, but then turns on a dime when you piss her off. Among the group, you have Jeff getting cartoonishly mad sometimes, and Britta gets filled with righteous indignation, and Pierce just gets easily upset over everything, but when SHIRLEY gets mad, it feels like genuine "Imma kill you while you sleep" energy. And that's an amusing juxtaposition from her bubbly, motherly persona. Plus, Shirley does a good job in the role of straight man among the group, reacting to the insanity around her, while occasionally becoming a part of said insanity, as the situation calls for it.

Good points. Though I find her evil side to be an act. She never acts on any of it and I find it just to be a tired bluff. I also cant stand the whole, Im divorced, but I love my ex, but I had sex with Chang, and he cant be part of the babys life even if its his, and i mysteriously have a higher GPA than Annie ish.

As for Shirley she does have quite a few redeemable qualities. She's often badass and steps up to solve problems in that kind of strong motherly way that I can't help but respect. Her religion is annoying but nothing I'm not used to arguing about with my actual mom. Maybe that's why she doesn't annoy me as badly as someone like Britta.

I feel like the show tried way too hard to make her badass. Like in the paintball episodes, pillow fort episodes, etc. she was always put in a position of power. When in reality, she has zero command. The only time her power trip persona was properly portrayed (alliteration) was on the popularity app episode, she played that one well.
