You don't need to censor sequels or homages. The original one has racism, homophobia, and police brutality in it to get it canceled.

• Riggs thinks it's "disgusting" that two women slept together.
• Riggs calls Murtaugh a homosexual slur for helping him to his feet. ("What are you, a ***?")
• Riggs calls Endo a racial slur. ("Who's the ****?")
• Riggs blindly shoots down the hallway leading into a busy nightclub without concern for the possibility of bystanders walking in.
• The final fight scene technically amounts to beating a man in custody since there are police officers around to block Joshua's escape. Naturally, they all allow the beating to take place.

It's an awesome action movie, but it has a lot more baggage than Die Hard.
