But at least corporate sent everyone a nice prerecorded voicemail on how much they appreciate our hard, essential work in these interesting times now more than ever.

Have there been process improvements to go along with it, or was it just straight up more work?

Not in ways that would justify less people. I work in a pharmacy. We have stretches where we literally aren't counting drugs because the phone is ringing and both inside and drive thru have patients.
They're also expecting us to double our flu shots this season over last year.

Yep. Store manager tells us we're up x amount in profit and sales while at the same time there aren't enough hours to go around. Uhhh sorry but where do hours come from exactly? Where is that profit being allocated to if not the workers who are keeping this place running? There are technicians picking up shifts in the front of the store because they're not working enough here, one of who is in rotations and only working once a week. All this talk about pharmacy being in a bubble and that it's about to burst, yeah I might just drop out and go into PA or Nursing like another one of our RxCEers recommended I do.

Hooray pharmacy! We're doing covid tests in my location as well with almost no resources. For a bonus they aren't accurate, fast enough to be useful, or safe! They do make the top people in the company lots of money in bonuses though, what really matters. This pandemic has really shown how America's healthcare is completely broken and amongst the worst in the world. Good thing tons of stupid fuckers will defend it to the death.

They will sadly just fire current workers and hire back the people they layed off. I would bet.
