Its pretty much Fire Red but an assload of improvements. It's using the new CFRU stuff which is great. Gen 7 exp share which makes it easy right? Wrong. There's a soft level cap depending on how many badges you have (you gain a piddly amount when you hit a certain level). You can't use items during gym leader battles and certain boss battles. And the game is automatically set to Set so you can't just switch out when you want.

Pokemon up to Gen 7. Some moves and abilities up to Gen 8 I think. DexNav for easier poke catching with hidden abilities. Reusable TMs and HMs and best of all, you don't actually need the HM move on a Pokemon to use it. Just need an eligible pokemon that would be able to use it in your party.

But yeah. Is fun and challenging

So many times I've walked into a gym and been like...oh yeah. Type advantage. I'm gonna STOMP.

Only to be embarrassed af lol. I swear some of these pokes were overtuned or something tho. I had a level 35 Fletchindr against a level 41 Meganium. After using Flame Charge twice, the Meganium was still able to outspeed me for some frickin reason.

So. I really want to like this game a lot. But man taking the VS Seeker is taking a lot of fun out of it. If there's a soft cap and we need to maybe raise more pokemon than usual, why artificially increase the length of the grind by forcing us to grind on wild pokemon? Kinda irks me.
